Description
The Former Conservative Club is a house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of rubble with a stone slate roof and stands three storeys high, featuring two first-floor windows. The central entrance has a four-panel door with an overlight, set in a chamfered surround with interrupted jambs and a raised lintel that has a recessed motif. The ground and first floors have sash windows, while the ground floor includes an enlarged fire-window on the left and blocked fire-windows on the first and second floors. The second floor has 9-pane unequally-hung sashes. The building also has stone gutter brackets, shaped kneelers, and end stacks, with the right stack corbelled out from the first floor. On the right side, there are two blocked single-light chamfered windows on the first and second floors. Inside, there are window shutters and doors with six fielded panels. The building is included for its group value.
