Description

The building is a set of disused kennels located below the forecourt of a stable block, dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. These kennels were built for John Pratt, a racehorse owner and master of the Askrigg Harriers. The structure is made of rubble and features a semicircular space that was once enclosed for hounds, with four doorways in the rear wall providing access to the kennels beneath the forecourt. At the time of the resurvey, the site was overgrown and obscured. The kennels are included for their group value.
