Detached cottage, formerly two. Early C19. Coursed rubble stone walls. Thatch roof with gable ends, brick stacks at left hand gable, ridge right of centre and right hand gable. Two storeys. 3 windows, ground floor: 3 : 3 : 2 first floor 2 : 2 : 2. Wood casements with glazing-bars, cambered arches to ground floor, wood lintels to first floor. Stone cills. Front door, positions, left and right centre, plank and glazed, C20. C19 brick porches, left thatched, right tiled. The cottage is immediately north of the earthwork surrounding Upton Battery.
