Description
St Gabriel's House is a manor house that has recently been converted into four dwellings. It dates from the 18th century and has undergone alterations in the 20th century. The building features red brick walls laid in Flemish bond on a stone plinth, with burnt headers and a brick plat-band. The roof is thatched and has gable ends on both the left and right sides, with one brick stack at the right end and additional stacks at the junction of the back wing and the main range, as well as at the end of the back wing's side wall. The house has a T-plan layout with a rear service range.
On the east elevation, the house is two storeys high with seven windows. The ground floor has three-light wooden casements with glazing bars set under segmental heads, while the upper floor features two-light wooden casements with wooden cills. There are three modern front doors leading to the new dwellings, made of wood with six glass panels. The rear walls are constructed of rubble with brick quoins. The interior has been mainly gutted, but some mid-chamfered ceiling beams with tongued stops remain.
