Description

This mid-18th century cottage is located in Morecombelake, near Whitchurch Canonicorum. It is a single-story building with a half-hipped thatched roof, rendered stacks at the left-hand side and eaves, and rubble walls that have been washed. The cottage has three windows with three-light wooden casements and leaded lights set within wooden cills. A plank front door is fitted with strap hinges and sheltered by a thatched canopy supported by two posts. A 20th-century extension is located at the left-hand end of the cottage. It is documented in "RCHM Dorset I" on page 264.
