Farmhouse. C16 with later alterations. Rubble walls washed, and some new brick quoins. Thatch roof with gable end at left hand and large hip at right hand, with catslide roof over later carriage-house. Main stack on original rear wall, projecting and with moulded plinth. L-plan house, the small rear wing towards the lane. Cross-passage, with original kitchen at south-east end of house. South elevation: 1½ storeys. 5 windows to main range, wooden casements with glazing bars, some renewed, mainly of 2 lights, one of 3 lights. Front door, right of centre, wood C20. Interior: cross-passage formerly at south end. Partition wall of muntins with C20 brick nogging, into hall. Integral 2-centred doorway. Hall fireplace: stone with Tudor-arch head and moulded jambs. Spandrels with carvings of an axe (left) and a knife (right). Straight deep-chamfered beams, C16. "RCHM Dorset In, p 264 (6).
