Description

The Village Well House, dating from the 19th century, is located beside the entrance to Candida House in Whitchurch Canonicorum. It features rubble-stone walls with stone dressings. The entrance has a low, 2-centred arch with straight-chamfered jambs and a plank door. The structure is topped with pitched stone gable copings and a fleur-de-lis motif at the apex. Above the arch, there is a stone cross inscribed with the words "Watch and Pray."
