Description
The Coach and Horses is a building that likely originated in the 17th century and was altered and extended in the 20th century. It features brick walls that are colourwashed and a thatched roof with brick stacks. The structure has one storey and attics, with an L-shaped plan. The main wing is positioned at right angles to the road, while a lower wing runs along the road, which was probably part of former outbuildings now incorporated into the inn. The main wing has been extended to the rear with brick and tile, and there is also a large flat-roofed addition at the back. A single-storey extension to the north is weather-boarded and has an asbestos slate roof. The ground floor includes modern doors and casement windows, while the attic features eyebrow dormers with casements. The interior has been altered but still retains some chamfered ceiling beams.
