Description
Stourfield is a house that appears to date from the early 19th century, although it may have earlier origins. It features rendered walls, a slate roof, and rendered stacks. The building is two storeys high with attics and is positioned at right angles to the road. The main south front, which faces the garden, includes an ornamental timber verandah with a glass roof and French doors behind it. The first floor has four double hung sash windows and a canted bay in the center of the facade. The attic is adorned with three gabled dormers that have ornamental bargeboards and double hung sashes. The entrance facade features a glazed door and an ornamental porch, along with double hung sash windows with glazing bars on both the ground and first floors. There is a projecting wing at the south end of this facade, which may be a later addition. A brick boundary wall runs along the road. Overall, Stourfield is a pleasant example of Regency style architecture.
