Description

A building, probably dating from the mid-19th century, is situated on Poole Road. The facade exhibits characteristics of Georgian architecture, although the building is not depicted on the Tithe Map. It is constructed with brick walls and has a tiled roof, featuring a brick stack. The building is two storeys high plus an attic. The ground floor features a shop front on the rounded corner, incorporating vertical timber mullions and a glazed door. A double-hung sash window with glazing bars faces Leigh Road. Facing Poole Road, a domestic-style door is set within a round-arched opening with a rendered surround, alongside a three-light double-hung sash window with glazing bars. The first floor, facing Leigh Road, contains four double-hung sash windows with glazing bars and two blocked windows. Facing Poole Road, there is a canted bay window with double-hung sashes. Two dormers with hipped roofs and metal casements light the attic space. The building is included on the list for its group value.
