Description
Gate piers and railings to Winton and The Firs are located on the east side of Westbury and date from the 19th century. The gate piers are made of ashlar stone and feature stone capping. There is a low dwarf wall with railings, where the uprights with spiked finials rise alternately above two different horizontal rails. These features likely date from around 1860, coinciding with the change of the street line in Westbury. The gate piers and railings are part of a group that includes Stonedyke House, Winton, The Firs, The Lawns, and the railings and gate before The Lawns and Digby Estate Nos 229, 232, and 233.
