At north end of front railings, C18 ashlar pier with banded rustication to front and back, and cornice (top overgrown with ivy and not visible). Low wall with canted coping supporting plain railings with pointed bars, interrupted in centre by 2 smaller gateposts, circular in plan and shaped like cannon, and with ball finials.
