Description

West View is a house dated 1686, although it has undergone unsympathetic alterations in 1968. The building is constructed of rubble with a stone slate roof and has two storeys featuring two first-floor windows. The central entrance has a part-glazed door set within a chamfered quoined ashlar surround, which includes a triangular soffit above the lintel and a small recessed panel on the lintel displaying the raised characters "1686 TB". The windows on the front are modern 20th-century three-light casements set in concrete surrounds. There is a ridge stack to the left of the door and another stack at the rear of the ridge on the left end. This building is included for its group value.
