Description
Westbury Cottage is a two-storey house, likely built in the 17th century, with its front positioned at an angle to the road. The structure is made of stone rubble and features a rough ashlar front, with approximately five windows. The upper floor has new casements, while the lower floor has sash windows. A drip mould at the first floor level has a raking line over the doorway. The door dates from around 1700, and the hood and brackets are probably from a later period. The roof is made of stone slate, with gable ends that include stone coping and moulded kneelers. In front of the house are stone flags that once served as the pavement to the main road, which, prior to about 1860, ran much closer to the house, following the line of buildings to the south as far as the Coach and Horses Public House.
