Description
17 The Square is an attached cottage that was formerly a shoe shop, dating from the mid-19th century. It features washed stone walls and an asbestos slate roof with stone gable-coping. There is a brick stack on the right-hand gable. The building has two storeys and two windows. The ground floor includes a shop front with a four-light wooden mullion window and a fascia, topped by a continuous moulded wood cornice. The front door, located at the center, is a wooden, flush-panelled door with four lights, dating from the 20th century. On the first floor, there are two sash windows with vertical glazing bars.
