Description

17 The Square is an attached cottage that was formerly a shoe shop, dating from the mid-19th century. It features washed stone walls and an asbestos slate roof with stone gable-coping. There is a brick stack on the right-hand gable. The building has two storeys and two windows. The ground floor includes a shop front with a four-light wooden mullion window and a fascia, topped by a continuous moulded wood cornice. The front door, located at the center, is a wooden, flush-panelled door with four lights, dating from the 20th century. On the first floor, there are two sash windows with vertical glazing bars. This building is included for its group value.
