Description

The Walnuts is a house dating from around 1820. It is constructed of lias ashlar with incised cement-stone pilasters at the left and right ends. A stone cornice runs along the top, and the roof is slate with stone gable-copings. Rendered stacks are situated at the left and right gables. The house is two storeys high and has three windows. These windows contain four-light wooden casements with marginal glazing and cross-bars, and wooden cills. Stone lintels with projecting keys surmount the windows. The central front door is set within a wooden doorcase featuring Doric pilasters, an architrave, a plain frieze, and an unconventional cornice. The reveals are panelled. The original door was panelled with six panels, but now has four-light glazing.
