Description

BEAMINSTER ST 50 SW 5/11 Langdon Manor Farm - II

Single House. Later C18. West part of house: stone walls, rendered, rusticated stone quoins and stone dentil cornice. Slate roof with stone gable-copings. Stone stack at left hand, rendered brick stack at right hand gables. 2 storeys with attics. 3 windows, tripartite sashes to ground floor with glazing bars. Single sashes with glazing-bars above. Slightly projecting keystones and stone cills. Former front door at centre with panelled reveals and round head. Door with 12 glass panels. Round fanlight over the glazing-bars. Rear wing consists of rear of house, farm office and farm cottage: same materials, 2 storeys, 7 windows in total, mixture of sashes and C20 3-light metal casements. Present front door in this wing, wooden studded with an integral fanlight. C20 square lantern with lead cupola over lights, the Hall. Interior: mid-chamfered ceiling-beam in rear of west range, with filleted stops, perhaps re-used.
