Description
Marsh Farmhouse is a late 17th-century cottage that also served as a dairy and a farmer's house. It consists of a single range of farm buildings. There is a 20th-century range at the south end, which was rebuilt after a fire in 1975. The walls are made of coursed rubble stone, and the roof is thatched with stone gable copings on the left and inner right gables. The building has two storeys and features five windows, all of which are two-light hollow-chamfered stone mullions with a continuous label over the ground floor. The windows include a mix of 20th-century metal casements and iron casements with glazing bars. The doors include a plank door with a simple wooden porch at bay 2, and a 20th-century wood panelled door with one glass light over at bay 5. There is also a rubble-stone extension that is at right angles to the main range, dating from the 19th century. The attached house at the south end has been entirely rebuilt and is not listed.
