Description

The Manor House comprises a medieval rear range dating to around 1450, significantly altered, a 17th-century front range, and an 18th-century extension to the rear. The rear range has rubble-stone walls, some rendered, and an asbestos slate roof. It features diagonal buttresses with two set-offs at the south end wall, one internal, and the remains of a diagonal buttress at the north end. Two storeys are present. Renewed 2-light wooden casements are visible. A stone porch with a hipped stone slate roof sits in the angle between the medieval and 17th-century ranges, featuring a 4-centred arch with moulded jambs. The north end of this range has a stone fireplace approximately 6 feet wide and 5 feet high, with a square head and moulded jambs. An east wall contains a blocked pointed-arch doorhead with moulded jambs.

The 17th-century range has rubble-stone walls, a thatched roof, and stone gable copings. Brick stacks are located at the left-hand gable, to the right of centre, and at the right-hand gable. It has two storeys with attics and four windows. The windows contain 2-light hollow-chamfered stone mullions with separate labels and iron casements divided by glazing-bars. There is no door on the main range. A pentice-roofed extension is located to the right, constructed of rubble-stone with a slate roof.

The 18th-century rear range features hollow-chamfered stone mullions of 2 and 4 lights, with labels, and wood marginal glazing-bars to the windows.

Inside, the building contains stone flags and mid-chamfered ceiling-beams. A small 17th-century fireplace has a keyed wooden lintel and stone jambs.
