Description

These are two cottages located on the north side of Newland, adjacent to three other cottages next to The Manor House. The cottages date from the 19th century but may have earlier structural elements. They are two storeys high and feature three windows. The cottages have a slate gabled roof with a stone slate verge and rendered fronts, which are accented by giant pilasters at each end. The entrance is centrally located, with a window above it.

The left cottage has a two-light casement window with small wooden panes above and a sash window below. The right cottage features a sash window above a four flush panelled door with sidelights, along with a sash window below.

These cottages, along with No 31 Newland, the east range of Sherborne House, the front and rear garden walls of Sherborne House, No 41, The Manor House, the three cottages next to The Manor House, and the two adjoining cottages, as well as Nos 57 to 93 (odd) and the north-east boundary wall to Newland Close, form a group of buildings of architectural significance.
