Description

Monk's Barn is a stone house located on the south side of Newland, dating from the 17th century or earlier. It is two stories tall and features a five-window stone rubble front, with a later lower addition on the right side. The building has a stone slate roof and includes one hipped dormer. Notable architectural details include a rusticated quoin and a nail-studded door, which is framed by an architrave and a hood supported by voluted brackets. The front also has modern posts and chains. Inside, the barn contains features from the 17th and early 18th centuries.
