Description
Hill Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1730, located in South Perrott. It features Lias stone walls and a thatched roof with stone gable copings. There are brick stacks at both the left and right gables. The building is two storeys high with four windows; the ground floor has three 3-light stone mullions with ovolos and returned labels above them. The upper floor includes wooden casements with wooden cills, arranged in 2 and 3-light configurations.
On the west gable wall, there are two 18th-century single-light windows with a continuous moulded label above. The front door, which has been reset, features 16th-century stone jambs and a two-centred arch with foliage spandrels beneath a square head. The door itself is a plank design, framed and studded, with strap hinges. The porch has ashlar stone walls with straight-chamfered jambs and a pentice tile roof.
At the rear, there is an 18th-century wing with a rubble-stone wall and two stone gable copings that rise above the line of the pentice roof. The interior includes a right room with a stone-jambed fireplace featuring a slightly-chamfered wooden lintel, a brick back wall, and an intact bread oven. The left room has a stone fireplace with bolection moulding and curved stone jambs with half-moulded edges.
