Description
The barn range at Westbrook Farm is a building from the mid to late 18th century, constructed from rubble with corrugated iron roofs. It features a 10-bay barn oriented north to south, which has a 6-bay barn attached to it on the east side, near the south end. The eastern range includes a deep hipped porch on the left, equipped with plank doors, and full-height flush doors on the far side. There are several ventilation slits, two buttresses on the south side, and one on the north side. A rubble wall at eaves height connects this barn to the stable block of Westbrook House.
The larger barn has a half-hipped roof and contains a wide pair of flush doors at the internal angle, along with a lean-to block. On the right side, there is a plank door with a transom light. The gable features a three-light casement window and rounded corners. On the far side, centrally located, is a deep hipped porch with plank doors and a side entry to the south. A later buttress is present on the right side. The south gable includes a loading door and a two-light window, while the short return has a two-light window and a wide plank door. Inside, the roofs retain collar trusses and some early purlins.
