Description
The barn located to the north of Manor Farmhouse is a late Medieval structure that has undergone alterations. It is built from rubble stone and features corrugated iron roofs, originally designed with half-hipped gables, although the south gable end has been reduced. The barn has gabled projecting entrances on both the west and east sides, with the west entry leading to an upper chamber, a dovecote, and stone-framed side doors that have triangular heads. The gable is coped. On either side of the west porch, there are lean-to additions against the south wall of the porch and along the front wall of the barn. The interior consists of a spacious seven-bay layout with raised cruck trusses flanking the entry. These trusses include a braced collar and a small apex truss, while the other four trusses have been altered to queen post trusses. Two of the bays retain their upper windbracing. Attached to the northwest end of the barn, extending westward, is an 18th-century rubble stone range with a concrete tiled roof that is half-hipped at the west end. This range features a central opening and, to the left, a stone doorway with a four-centred arch, keystone, and plain impost blocks.
