Description

Island Cottage is a detached house dating from the late 18th or early 19th century, located in Upwey, Dorset. It is a largely restored building set back from the road, with its lower section closer to the street, and presents a gable end to the road. The house has two storeys and six windows in total, all of which are replacement casement windows. The main range features a central doorway with a stone chamfered surround, flanked by four-light casement windows at ground floor. The lower section has a pair of French doors and a four-light casement window. The gable end has three-over-four-light windows with segmental heads. The rear of the house has a swept-down roof in places, and contains two brick ridge stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
