Description

Stottingway End is a detached house located on Dorchester Road in Upwey, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. The building is rendered with a slate hipped roof and features a compact, symmetrical front that faces south, along with lower rear ranges. It stands two storeys tall and has three windows, which are 9 over 12-pane sashes set in reveals. The central entrance consists of a four-panel door topped with a radial fanlight, situated in an arched recess and accessed by two steps. The ground floor has a rusticated finish, resting on a plinth and topped with a plat band. On the left side of the building, there is a small 9-pane sash window. There is a stack at each end of the house. At the rear, a gabled wing includes a stack and a lean-to one-storey unit with a 19th-century plank door, although this wing has 20th-century replacement windows. The main entrance is accessed through a small courtyard at the eastern end of the property, which is part of a later attached range. The interior has not been inspected.
