Description
The Royal Standard Public House is an early 19th-century public house located on Dorchester Road in Upwey, Weymouth. The building features a rendered front and return with a rubble back and a slate hipped roof. It is two storeys high and has three windows, all of which are original 16-pane sashes set on stone sills. The central door, which dates from the 20th century, is accessed by one step and is framed by an elliptical arch with a plain tympanum. Additional architectural details include a plinth, a mid plat band, box eaves, and large end stacks. The rear wall is characterized by wide-spaced 16-pane sashes with brick jambs and heads. The interior has not been inspected.
