Description
The barn range at Starveall Farm, dating from the early 18th century, is constructed from rubble stone and features stone-tiled roofs. The barn has flush quoins and a projecting gabled cart entry on the east side, topped with a sundial finial, and has lean-to additions on either side. There is a plain rear cart entry. Inside, the barn has a 5-bay layout with tie-beam-and-collar trusses supporting a double purlin roof. At the south end, there is a two-storey range with an external stair, a single upper opening above a central door, and two windows on each side. The lower openings have timber lintels. Extending east from the north end of the barn is a 6-bay open cartshed, featuring circular rubble stone piers with square pennant stone caps. There is a further open-bay range to the east that is not of special interest.
