Description
Starveall Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse constructed of rubble stone, featuring a hipped stone-tiled roof and tall ashlar stacks at the ends. The building is two stories high and has a three-window range, forming an L-plan layout. The front of the farmhouse showcases flush quoins and stopped cyma-moulded three-light recessed stone mullion windows, with dripstones above the ground floor windows. There is a central flush stone doorcase leading into an ashlar-fronted stone porch topped with a hipped stone tile roof, which contains the original framed plank door. The rear wing has a rebuilt end wall stack and an east side that includes a single range of three-light windows similar to those at the front, with the lower window also featuring a dripstone. Inside, there is a central closed string staircase with a moulded rail and no balusters. The ground floor rooms on the left and right have moulded timber doorcases, and the left room includes a bead-moulded stone fireplace with a stone shelf above.
