CHIPPENHAM WITHOUT - ST 87 SE 5/197 Starveall Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse, early C18, rubble stone with hipped stone-tiled roof and ashlar tall end wall stacks. 2 storey, 3 window range, L-plan. Front with flush quoins, stopped cyma-moulded 3-light recessed stone mullion windows, dripstones over ground floor windows and central flush stone doorcase in ashlar fronted stone porch with hipped stone tile roof. Original framed plank door. Rear wing with rebuilt end wall stack and east side one window range of 3- light windows similar to front, lower window with dripstone. Interior: central closed string stair with moulded rail, no balusters. Moulded timber doorcases to ground floor rooms left and right. Left side room has bead-moulded stone fireplace with stone shelf over.
