Description

LACOCK REYBRIDGE ST 96 NW 3/152 Cuckoo Bush Farmhouse II

Farmhouse, mid C18, rubble stone with stone slate roof behind mid C19 ashlar slate-roofed front range. Two storeys, L-plan. Front has ornate end stacks, coped gables and 3-window range of sash windows in raised surrounds. Bracketed sills to first floor, moulded cornices to ground floor windows. Raised plinth, angle pilasters and moulded stone eaves. Centre door with overlight in raised surround with cornice on console brackets. Original house is L-plan, front obscured by C19 addition, but with end stacks and one-window range of mullion windows to rear. Rear wing has ridge and end stacks, hipped dormer, and cyma-moulded flush mullion windows. One 3-light above, door in moulded surround and two 2- lights with dripstones to ground floor. Rear has 2 similar 3- lights to first floor and one with dripstone to ground floor. A plain Tudor-arched fireplace at inner end of rear wing.
