Description
Middle Park Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse constructed from limestone rubble with brick dressings, featuring a plain-tile roof and brick gable stacks. The building has a central-stair plan with an outshut and a rear wing, standing two storeys plus attics. The symmetrical front has five windows and includes a plinth, a storey band, and an eaves course made of moulded brick. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door with an overlight, flanked by two-light leaded casements. All openings are accented with brick quoins and segmental arches, and there are two gabled roof dormers. The gable parapets are topped with moulded brick copings. To the right, there is a similar full-height rear wing, and the rear outshut features a four-light leaded casement and a roof dormer. Inside, the farmhouse retains a dogleg stair with heavy turned balusters, a large inglenook fireplace with a bread oven, a butt-purl in the roof, a folding double-leaf door with original ironmongery, and contemporary fittings, all contributing to an interior that is generally unaltered.
