Description
Tolcarne Wartha Mill is a former watermill dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of granite rubble with granite dressings and has an asbestos slate roof with gable ends. The building has a rectangular plan built into the bank on the left, with a wheelpit at the rear. There is a flight of steps leading to a first-floor loading doorway at the left-hand end, as well as a flight of steps to the front ground floor doorway. The leat is intact, but the machinery has been removed. The exterior features two storeys over a basement (originally three storeys over a basement) and has a symmetrical two-window south front with a central doorway that is approached by a flight of seven granite steps. The doors are old ledged doors, and some of the windows are old with glazing bars. The interior has not been inspected.
