Description
A mill dating from the early 19th century, constructed of granite and killas rubble with granite dressings. It has a slurried scantle slate roof with gable ends. The rectangular plan includes a wheel pit at the right-hand end, where the wheel has been removed. A leat, which would have fed an overshot wheel, returns at right angles in front on the right side of the building. External steps lead to the right, and there is a small, 19th-century single-storey extension set at a right angle behind the right-hand side.
The north front is two storeys high and has an irregular facade with a single window. A doorway is positioned approximately centrally on the left, above which is a first-floor window. A gable-dormered loading doorway is located towards the right, accessed by a shallow flight of stone steps. A large granite monolith spans the space between the steps and the high retaining wall of the leat, functioning as a step and providing access to cantilevered steps built into the wall.
The interior has not been inspected, but the roof structure is likely original, although the mill machinery has been removed.
