Description
This barn, likely a granary over stables, shippons (loose boxes), and a waggon shed, was probably built around the middle of the 19th century. It is constructed of local killas and elvan rubble with granite and some brick dressings, and has a hipped roof covered in scantle slate held in place by grouting. The building has a long, rectangular plan. A waggon shed is situated to the left, featuring opposing loading and winnowing doorways. To the right of the waggon shed is a smaller stable or tack room. Shippons or loose boxes of equal size are located to the right and left of the waggon shed, with a final stable positioned at the far right. The south-east front has a regular two-window appearance. Shallow brick arches are above the openings in the middle and on the left, while granite lintels cover the other openings. A wide doorway is on the left, with a loading doorway above it, and a smaller doorway is approximately in the middle. Flanking these doorways are two symmetrical one-window fronts, each with a doorway on the right and left, and a further doorway is located at the far right. The interior of the barn has not been inspected.
