Description
No. 7 Commercial Road is a house that is part of a row, built in the early to mid-19th century. It features a stucco exterior over stone rubble and has an asbestos slate roof with rendered brick chimneys at the gable ends. The house has a two-room, double-depth layout with a central staircase and stands two storeys tall. The south-facing road front is symmetrical with three windows. The central doorway has a 20th-century top-glazed door set within an altered original open porch supported by square posts. The ground floor has four-pane, horned sash windows, while the first floor retains original hornless 12-pane sashes. The openings are mostly cambered arched, except for the right side of the ground floor. The building also features full-height, rusticated pilaster quoin strips. The interior has not been inspected, but the house is included for its group value.
