Description

Milestone located at SW 545300, likely dating from around 1864. It is made of painted dressed granite and has a triangular-shaped shaft that sits on a rectangular base. Two sides of the shaft are angled towards the road and rise from pyramidal stops. Each of these sides features incised lettering and Arabic numerals. The left side reads: "PENZANCE 5 LANDS END 13," while the right side states: "HELSTON 8, FALMOUTH 20." There is also an Ordnance Survey bench mark underneath.
