Description

Milestone located on Marazion Turnpike Road, probably dating from around 1864. It is made of painted dressed granite and has a triangular shape on the shaft with a rectangular base. The two rectangular sides of the shaft face the road at an angle and rise from large pyramidal stops. Each side features incised lettering and Arabic numerals. The top of the milestone has a pyramidal head. The inscription on the left side reads: PENZANCE 4, LANDS END 14. The inscription on the right side reads: HELSTON 9, FALMOUTH 21.
