Milestone at SW592288

Milestone. Probably circa 1864. Painted dressed granite monolith. Triangular-on-plan shaft over a rectangular-on-plan base. 2 rectangular sides of the shaft face the road obliquely and rise from large pyramid stops. Each of these sides has incised lettering and Arabic numerals. Pyramidal head. Left-hand inscription: PENZANCE 8, LANDS END 18. Right-hand inscription: HELSTON 5, FALMOUTH 17.

The asset was previously listed twice also at List entry 1311717. This entry was removed from the List on 10th July 2015.
