Description

This is a disused detached chimney located at Wheal Grey, built around 1897. It was originally part of the engine house and boiler house. The chimney is constructed from granite rubble with a brick upper stage and has a round plan with a flue opening on the north side. It features a tapered two-stage design, with a moulded brick collar that divides the stages, although the upper collar has fallen. This chimney served as the flue for a former 36-inch cylinder beam pumping engine that was installed in the nearby engine house.
