Description

This is a milestone located in Breage, likely dating from around 1864. It is made of painted dressed granite and has a triangular shape on the shaft with a rectangular base. The two rectangular sides of the shaft face the road at an angle and rise from large pyramid stops. Each side features incised lettering and Arabic numerals. The head of the milestone is pyramidal in shape. The left side is inscribed with "PENZANCE / 7 / LANDS END / 17," while the right side reads "HELSTON / 6 / FALMOUTH / 18." This milestone was previously listed under the parish of Germoe but was removed from the List on 17 November 2017.
