Description
The building is a wash house located east of Bosinney, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It features painted rubble walls, a grouted scantle slate roof, and a painted tapered round chimney at the east gable end. The structure has a single-cell plan with a doorway at the west gable end, a small window in the south wall, and a fireplace with flanking niches in the east gable end. Although it has been suggested that this building may have been a blowing house due to its proximity to a stream for water-powered bellows, its use as a wash house or bake house seems more likely. With its distinctive chimney, the building makes an important contribution to the village green in front of the Church of Saint Germoe.
