Description
Penrose Cottage is a house dating from the early 19th century, situated on the Marazion Turnpike Road in Marazion. The exterior is constructed from granite and elvan rubble, with dressed granite used for the quoins, jambstones, and lintels. The windows have slate sills, and the roof is covered in asbestos slate, with brick chimneys marking the cross party walls. Originally, the house followed a two-room plan with a central passage, and a 20th-century extension was added on the right. The north front is symmetrical, featuring two windows and a central doorway, alongside the later extension. The original front door is a six-panel design, and the windows were originally hornless sashes with glazing bars, although these have been partially removed to create four-pane sashes. The interior of the cottage was not inspected during the listing process.
