Description
Chiverton Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse located in Perranuthnoe. The building features granite ashlar on the ground storey of the front, with incised stucco above, likely over cob, and the rest is constructed from rubble with some cob. It has a steep scantle slate roof with brick chimneys at the gable ends and cast-iron ogee gutters.
The farmhouse has a double depth plan, consisting of two front rooms on either side of a through passage. The larger room on the left is probably a hall or kitchen, while the room on the right is likely a parlour. There is a lean-to earth closet attached to the left side and a 20th-century porch at the rear middle.
The exterior is two storeys high and features a nearly symmetrical three-window south front. The doorway is nearly central but the windows are grouped towards the right. The door is from the 20th century. The ground floor has early 19th-century hornless 16-pane windows, while the upper floor has 20th-century 12-pane two-light casements. Old 12-pane two-light casements can still be seen in the left-hand gable end towards the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
