Description
Lower Bosistow Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse constructed of granite ashlar. It features scantle slate hipped roofs surrounding a central valley and has large brick stacks with cogged cornices positioned over the end walls. The front of the building is adorned with a modillioned eaves cornice. The farmhouse has a large double-depth plan, likely consisting of two spacious reception rooms at the front, which flank a wide entrance hall that leads to a large stair hall situated between the rear service rooms. The exterior is two storeys high with a symmetrical five-window southeast front that includes a wide central doorway. In front of the doorway is a classical style distyle porch, and it has 20th-century glazed doors, with possibly original 12-pane hornless sash windows. The rear of the building has not been inspected, and while the interior has also not been inspected, it is expected to contain high-quality 18th-century features.
