Description

Boscarn Old Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse that was extended in the late 18th or early 19th century. The front and the upper part of the right gable end are made of granite ashlar, while the rest of the building is constructed from granite rubble with granite dressings. It has a grouted scantle slate roof with dressed granite stacks at the gable ends. The house has a two-room plan, featuring a parlour on the left and a slightly larger kitchen/living room on the right, with a lobby entrance to the stairs in between. There is a later pantry outshut behind the kitchen, primarily built of masonry likely sourced from the kitchen's back wall.

The exterior is two storeys high and features a nearly symmetrical three-window front facing southeast, with a doorway located centrally among the windows. The door is a 20th-century ledged design, and the windows are late 19th-century four-pane horned sashes, with the lower lights being hornless. The original window openings are small.

Inside, the kitchen and entrance hall have granite flagstones, and there are 18th-century ovolo-moulded beams. The interior also includes two 18th-century two-panel doors with fielded panels, some plank and muntin partitions, a 19th-century cast-iron Cornish range, and a 19th-century built-in dresser.
