Description

ST BURYAN BOSCARN SW 32 NE 4/75 Boscarn Old Farmhouse (at south - west 395270) GV Farmhouse. C18, extended circa later C18 or early C19. Granite ashlar front and upper part of right-hand gable end, otherwise granite rubble with granite dressings. Grouted scantle slate roof with dressed granite stacks over the gable ends. Plan: 2-room-plan house with parlour on the left; slightly larger kitchen/living room on the right and lobby entrance to stair between. Later pantry outshut behind the kitchen. The pantry is largely built of masonry which was probably from the back wall of the kitchen. Exterior: 2 storeys. Nearly symmetrical 3-window south-east front with doorway central to the fenestration. C20 ledged door. Circa late C19 4-pane horned sashes (lower lights of sashes are hornless). Original small window openings. Interior: Granite flagstones to kitchen and entrance hall; C18 ovolo-moulded beams; two C18 2-panel doors with fielded panels; some plank and muntin partitions; a C19 cast-iron Cornish range and a C19 built-in dresser.
