Description

SANCREED SW 43 SW 2/276 Receven Old Farmhouse - II Farmhouse. C18. Granite moorstone rubble with some granite dressings. Steep corrugated iron roof with dressed granite stack over right-hand gable end. Plan: Originally a 2-room plan house with parlour on the left and slightly larger kitchen on the right with probably a lobby entrance and stair between. In the C19 service rooms were added in an outshut at the rear and there is a small later lean-to on the right. Left-hand gable end rebuilt in the C20. Exterior: 2 storeys. Nearly symmetrical 2 window south-south-east front with doorway left of middle. Old ledged door. C20 windows to ground floor, windows above boarded over. Reused possible millstone as quoin on the right. Interior: Not inspected. Said to have large granite fireplace at right-hand end. Possibly has old floors and roof structure.
