SANCREED NEWBRIDGE The Fountain Inn

Public house. Circa early C19. Granite rubble with granite dressings. Scantle slate roofs, sweeping lower at rear over original part. Brick chimneys over far left and right-hand gable end. Plan: Cranked plan. Original double depth house (originally 2-rooms wide) has circa early C19 1-room plan wing built at right angles in front of the left-hand end and a wing of similar date built at right angles to the wing on its left. Exterior: 2 storeys. Originally a nearly symmetrical 2 window front with approximately central doorway. Doorway is now in former window opening on the right and original doorway has a window. C20 door. Circa late C19 or C20 6-pane horned sashes except for original circa mid C19 12-pane hornless sash at first floor of wing (right-hand wall). Rear has blocked doorway, blocked stair window right of doorway and small first floor window towards the left. Interior not inspected.
