Description
NORTH HILL SX 27 NE 4/114 West Berriow Farmhouse II Farmhouse. Probably C17 origins. Painted stone rubble. Rag slate roof with gable ends. Rendered stacks, the left hand stack projecting. Brick shaft to end stack on rear right. Plan: Original plan is uncertain. There is a straight joint on the front elevation to right of centre and possibly a blocked door opening close to this straight joint. The house has a two room and cross passage plan with entrance near centre, the two rooms heated by end stacks. Circa C19 outshut added across rear, the kitchen to rear right heated by an end stack. Exterior: Two storeys. Long asymmetrical 4-window front with straight joint and possible blocked doors to right of centre. C20 part glazed door near centre flanked by circa late C19 8-pane sash to left with chamfered timber lintel with run-out stops and C19 2-light casement to right. First floor with circa late C19 8-pane and 6-pane sashes to left, small 2-light casement and C19 2-light casement to right. Interior: Fairly slight chamfered ceiling beams with straight cut stops. There are no thick internal partitions inside the earlier range. First floor and roof structure not inspected.
