Description
26 and 28 Broad Street is a town house that was later converted into two houses with a shop. It dates from the 18th century and was remodeled in the early 19th century, with No. 28 being partly rebuilt in the 1970s. The exterior of No. 28 has a render that replaces the original stucco, while No. 26 features incised stucco on rubble with a moulded architrave. Both buildings have a dry slate roof and a rear lateral brick stack. The layout is single-depth with a deep wing at angles behind No. 26. The structure is two storeys high and has a three-window range. No. 28 has 20th-century twelve-pane horned sash windows, while No. 26 has a mid-19th century four-pane hornless sash window. The ground floor includes a central early 19th-century doorway with fluted pilasters and a moulded architrave, along with a three-light shop front and a returned light to the doorway, which has a glazed door on the right. The interior has not been inspected.
