Description

Sea Thatch is a house that likely dates from the 18th century, with extensions added in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features walls made of killas rubble and timber lintels above the openings. The original part of the house has a wheat reed thatched roof, while the 19th-century extension has a grouted scantle slate roof. The original house, located on the left, consists of two rooms with what is probably a lobby entrance between them, and there is likely an integral stair outshut behind the left-hand room. The right side has a one-room plan 19th-century extension, and there is a small 20th-century extension at the rear. The building is two storeys high and has an overall four-window front. The original house displays a symmetrical three-window front with a central doorway, which features a 20th-century door and 12-pane, two-light casements, all in their original openings. The interior has not been inspected.
